Overview
A Mk6 Golf does not ship with the adaptive cruise radar or the extended CAN gateway that openpilot expected. This project retrofitted both onto a 2014 Golf TDI so that openpilot could run on the car. The retrofit has since been removed and the car returned to stock.
Scope
- Installation of an extended CAN gateway and an adaptive cruise radar
- CAN bus analysis and DBC work
- Adapting a German-language retrofit guide to a different model and parts list
- Documentation of the parts, procedure, and lessons learned
