Overview

A reverse engineering effort to recover a Frameo photo frame that had entered a bootloop, working through the Rockchip boot process and building a recovery path for a device with no official one.

Scope

  • Hardware identification and dumping of the partition table
  • Working with Rockchip Loader mode and its read and write restrictions
  • Evaluation of stock and third-party recovery images for the device
  • Construction of a custom recovery environment
